I can't say enough about the people at procter automotive. Great guys and very personable. The guys called me and let me know where we stood on my vehicle and nothing was done until they talked to me. Every one I met in the shop was friendly and I didn't feel like they were blowing smoke. A special thanks to Tom who called me and took a personal interest in myself and my vehicle. Thanks to the whole team for getting me back on the road. Great shop I recommend very highly

In posting this review I just had my car looked at by the mechanics at Proctor. They never did the full repair and it was my choice to have them look. I was charged standard diagnostic fee and an hour to look at it, at this point my bill was around $174. I got a call and was told they haven't figured it out but hopefully in another hour they would have it. I'm in the hole a bit now but okay, so my bill is now $274. In the end I was told it was a fairly simple part and it would be 2 hours labor to fix. That price was too high for the part so I replaced it myself. I did notice that the screws were stripped on the part I took off (before I took it off) so it was stripped by or before the mechanic put it back together. So I was not informed of any option to replace the stripped out screws or the screws' condition at all when I picked it up. The staff was always very polite and friendly, just wished I would have been informed more of the things discovered while diagnosing the car.

Scottie, I know it's been a while since you left this review, but I'm disheartened you felt this way after the team took a look at your car. We strive to be as informative as possible when communicating our diagnostics with our customers, and I'm sorry we weren't able to let you know about your stripped screws, especially since you note how polite and friendly you found the team's assistance. Took a Mercedes coupe in because the A/C wasn't cold and we were getting codes on the dash. They called the next day saying the fan belt was shredded because it had come off while the engine was running. Problems with their statement: I had changed the belt and tensioner pulley two weeks earlier myself. Since doing so the car was driven to San Antonio and back and almost 200 miles locally. I also had opened the hood the day before taking the car to Proctors to check that all the fluids were up and basically nothing was obviously wrong under the hood. I remember eyeballing the belt and it was new just like when I installed it. The next morning we drove the car to Proctors shop location. They are a short 10 blocks from the house. We did not have any problem or hear any sounds while taking the car to them. When they called with their diagnosis I became very upset and we drove over to get the car immediately. I don't know how but not only did they not clear the computer codes from showing on the instrument panel, but there is actually more now.

Surgeon, I'm sorry you felt this way about our assessment of your vehicle. I know it's been a while since you left this review, but the entire team is ASE certified, so it's surprising that you found our diagnostic questionable. The team is always happy to chat with any of our customers about any of our evaluations, and it's disheartening to hear that you weren't satisfied with our help. These guys know what they are doing and treat you with respect and honesty during your entire interaction with them. As others have said in reviews, they are always quite busy (generally a good sign at an auto shop) and make no promises about time to finish your vehicle, yet almost always get done in half the time or less with whatever you are having done. They shoot you straight and don't try to pull the wool over your eyes. I highly recommend, and they will continue to get my business.
